Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

We take privacy seriously and make our best efforts to protect the privacy of everyone who visits this site. We work in search marketing, so we understand exactly how much can be inferred from browsing data. That is precisely why we are careful with yours.

This policy is written in plain language and describes what we actually do, not everything a policy could permit us to do. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.

Information we collect

What you give us directly

  • Contact form. Your name, email address, website address, and whatever you write in the message field. If you request a free PPC audit, we also ask for your Google Ads account number so we can review the account.
  • Email and other correspondence. Anything you send us directly, and our replies.
  • Client information. If you become a client, the information needed to deliver the work, which may include access to your website, analytics, advertising accounts, and business profiles.

Form submissions are delivered by Web3Forms, a third-party form processor, and arrive in our email, which runs on Google Workspace.

What is collected automatically

  • Usage data. Which pages you view, how you arrived, how long you stay, your device and browser, screen size, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. This is not precise location and does not identify you by name.
  • Session recordings. Microsoft Clarity records a replay of your visit, including mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and the pages you move through. It is configured to mask text you type, so it should not capture what you enter into form fields.
  • Security and delivery data. Cloudflare, which serves this site, processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

We do not sell your information

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not hand it to anyone to use for their own purposes. It is used internally, and by the service providers we rely on to run this site and deliver our services.

One thing we would rather state plainly than bury: our advertising tools involve disclosures to advertising partners that several state privacy laws classify as “sharing” or even a “sale,” even though no money changes hands. That is described in Sharing for advertising below, and you can opt out of it at any time.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and prepare proposals.
  • To deliver, support, and report on the services you hire us for.
  • To decide how to improve this site and what to publish on it: which pages people find useful, where they get stuck or give up, which questions come up often enough to deserve an article, and which pages are not earning their place.
  • To measure our own marketing, so we know which work actually produces enquiries rather than guessing.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.
  • To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the purposes described above. Specifically:

  • Google Tag Manager loads the measurement tools below. It does not collect anything by itself.
  • Google Analytics 4 tells us how the site is used in aggregate: traffic, popular pages, and which sources produce enquiries.
  • Google Ads measures whether our own advertising works, and supports advertising if you have opted in.
  • Microsoft Clarity provides session replays and heatmaps so we can see where the site confuses people. It sets cookies to recognise a continuing session.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you. Because it stores nothing on your device, it runs regardless of your consent choice.

We also use Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools to see how our pages perform in search results. Worth being precise: these are reporting consoles. They place nothing on your device and do not track you on this site. Google and Microsoft do receive data about searches that lead to our pages, which is why we mention them here rather than leaving them out.

Sharing for advertising

Our advertising technologies may disclose identifiers and browsing activity to advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising. Under several state privacy laws this is treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, even where no payment is involved. We do not sell personal information for money.

Your privacy choices

Nothing that stores or reads an identifier on your device runs before you make a choice. Advertising and analytics storage default to denied. If you decline, or simply never choose, those tools do not store anything on your device and cannot recognise you. Some Google tags may still send a signal containing no cookies and no identifiers so that Google can estimate overall totals.

You can change your mind at any time using the Your Privacy Choices link in our footer.

We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends GPC, we automatically treat it as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and we will not prompt you to opt back in.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and correspondence for as long as we need them to respond to you and to maintain ordinary business records, then delete them. Client records are kept for the length of the engagement and for as long as tax and accounting rules require afterwards. Analytics and session data are kept according to the retention settings in each tool.

State privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, request access to or deletion of it, correct inaccuracies, and opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. You will not be treated differently or receive a worse service for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email us using the address below and tell us what you would like us to do.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will say so rather than quietly editing the text.
